An advanced, long-acting injection designed to transform knee osteoarthritis management. Available now at Physio On The Green.
What is Arthrosamid®?
Arthrosamid® is a non-biodegradable hydrogel injection used to treat knee osteoarthritis. Unlike traditional treatments like steroid or hyaluronic acid injections, Arthrosamid® is permanently retained within the joint and works by creating a cushioning and lubricating layer inside the knee.
It is composed of 2.5% cross-linked polyacrylamide and 97.5% water—a soft, non-toxic gel that becomes part of the joint lining. The result? Long-lasting relief from pain and stiffness without the use of steroids.
How Does It Work?
Arthrosamid® integrates with the synovial membrane inside the knee and provides three major effects:
- Improved Lubrication – Reduces joint friction during movement.
- Shock Absorption – Provides a cushion within the joint space, reducing impact.
- Reduced Inflammation – Alters the local inflammatory environment, improving joint homeostasis.
This makes it particularly useful for patients with moderate to severe osteoarthritis who want to avoid or delay surgery.

Clinical Evidence
Arthrosamid® is CE-marked and approved for use across Europe and the UK. In published clinical trials, more than 70% of patients reported sustained improvement in pain and function up to 2 years after a single injection.
Studies have shown:
- Significant improvements in WOMAC scores (a validated osteoarthritis outcome measure)
- High patient satisfaction rates
- Reduced need for other medications or surgical consultations
“Arthrosamid® is one of the most promising injection therapies we’ve seen in the last decade. It offers a potential game-changer for those wanting to avoid surgery.”
